They are in geographically isolated areas with little access to basic social services and few opportunities for mainstream economic activities, education, or political participation. Interaction between primitive and modern ethnic groups tend to weaken or destroy the tribal and ancestral culture without assimilating the indigenous groups into modern society. n 2002 the Cartwheel Foundation set out programs so the IPs can preserve their traditional, pre-colonial culture, social institutions, and livelihood and medicinal practices while exposing them to mainstream educational, social, and economic practices. Global ShareResource Foundation shares the mission of the Cartwheel Foundation. No amount is too small to advance the lives of the Filipino Indigenous Peoples.
